I ave not ride al of them yet so I am not in a position to endorse any of them. As spokesman for my family, we all have to solidify our endorsement of a particular lock. Some companies have asked for my endorsement but as of yet I have not endorsed any.

@trevbjo What is the best trigger lock on the market?

Is there any lock in the world totally safe and unpickable? The purpose of trigger locks are to prevent children from shooting themselves or someone else. Kid training is not enough. Peer pressure is stronger than parent pressure. Go to; Yahoo Groups / Gunlocks. My father invented trigger locks back in the 1940's, thousands of people are alive today because of his invention and thousands are dead because their parents didn't think they needed a trigger lock. Pls join or post comments there. Ron

The point of a gun lock isn't really to stop yourself from getting at it. On a lot of models, especially handguns, one can insert the magazine, cock the weapon and then just pull the trigger lock back, firing the weapon. I fire a Star Modelo Super with a pivot trigger system and a trigger lock has literally no effect on its ability to fire. For storage I prefer to field strip the gun and guide a cable lock through the handle much like he's doing here, but without just locking the slide back.

I appreciate the advice. I absolutely intend to teach my child about gun safety but at the moment he is two years old so it'll be a while. I googled trigger locks to get some basic info on them and this video was the first to pop up. I will definitely get a cable lock. I think you've done a very good job of demonstrating their effectiveness and the potential issues involved with the use of a trigger lock. Much appreciated.
i dont know if the locks u have say it but mine says "warning never install on a loaded firearm". i do think that if u were smart enough to read that IT CAN NOT DO ANY HARM.

@kfurg123 I'm aware that you shouldn't install a trigger lock on a loaded firearm.
The point is you can still put a trigger lock on a loaded firearm. And you can load the firearm after the trigger lock is in place. Should you? Well, no, but the point of most trigger locks is to keep unauthorized people from accessing the weapon. And, quite frankly, they fail miserably at that.
