@adrianbpj Drew does not have Down Syndrome. Just like you have no class or sense of decency.

@CanineDS I will be extremely surprised if he wishes to stop wearing his CI's when he is older, but if he does, that will be his right. I can tell you are still existed - you posted on YouTube, didn't you?

@TurnOnMyEars well informed about CI :)

@TurnOnMyEars CI is designed for those who has hearing loss occurs later in life!
-
@TurnOnMyEars Did you do your research on CI? Have you ever interact with CI users?
-
@TurnOnMyEars Ok do you have information regarding success rate on CI?
-
@TurnOnMyEars Was your son born completely deaf?

@passiondiscgolf I know, and now deaf Italian people are fighting to give LIS the right value and to make it become an official language. I love LIS and I totally support bilingual education (I study psychology and I know the benefits of such an education!). I really hope thing will change soon in Italy (even if I'm not very faithfull they will). I really feel like my Country is "obsolete" from this point of view! bye ;-)
CI will not work for those who born deaf by Connexin 26.

@passiondiscgolf You are absolutely incorrect - Drew is deaf due to Connexin 26 and was an excellent candidate for CI's since he was born deaf and implanted at 8 months old. You are grossly uninformed. Please educate yourself about cochlear implants before speaking on their pros or cons.

90% of CI users (born deaf) has no benefits from it. CI is designed for child/adults who have lost most of their hearing later in life often can benefit from it. CI is NOT the solution.

@passiondiscgolf This is absolutely incorrect.

Medical costs run from US$45,000 to US$125,000. They don't care if it works or not. All they care is to collect $.

@passiondiscgolf The total cost to us for Drew's surgery after insurance was $1,170.15. The yearly cookout we have with the surgeon and hospital staff seems to indicate they do care, though it is hard to judge since all the kids with CI's are having too much fun running around talking with each other and playing games to really interrogate the medical personnel on the matter.
