Maybe a bad/intermittent starter relay? Sorry I wish I had more info for you.

@canobd2 I have a 02 Landrover freelander. I replaced the starter 3 times, each time I replaced the starter the car starts. However, each time, after a few days, the engine would not crank over, but I can hear the starter spinning. Thought it was the battery wires, replaced that as well, engine still won't crank. Any help will be great.

The starter wasn't tested...I was having trouble starting the vehicle and would hear a single click. A tap on the starter started the car so we assumed the starter was the problem. Took the starter in to have the contacts cleaned. Starter was installed and haven't had any problems until now (a year later). The car is silent when I try to turn the engine over, except for a slight hum...I'm guessing fuel pump.
No dimming of the lights when key is turned to on/start.

Unfortunately without the car in front of me it makes it hard to diagnose. Did your old starter test bad before replacing it?

My starter was replaced last Christmas. I can sometimes get the car to start in neutral but not always. Really just trying to narrow this problem down somewhat. I don't have much money to fix the car.

You could have a bad ignition switch, however you could also have a bad starter, starter solenoid, fuse, and or bad wiring.

I have a 99 Toyota solara that randomly won't start. Ignition turns but no sound/crank. Lights and power accessories are strong. My friend says it might be the ignition switch...does this sound like the problem to you?? Thanks!
Do you have a video where you change the cylinder?
