@GCee92 I recognize that hip hop does not make their listeners shallow, much like country doesn't make their listeners bigoted rednecks. My probem with hip-hop is that its sound seems more manufuctured and overdone than most other music genres, lacks a bit of heart somehow, and yet so many buy into it. Do hip-hop listeners dig it because they truly like its sound etc., or is it because "everybody else is doing it"? That's what I've been trying to understand.

You may think others are shallow, but you're a very judgemental person.
I like Hip-Hop music and dance.
You could call it a cheap consequence that the people you know are like that who enjoy hip hop. Not, hip hop does that to people.
Therefore your judgement is very shallow.
Very big difference.

@yogomanburningband Does having fun include having sex with somebody else's sloppy seconds? Hip-hop lovers tend to be shallow-minded and oversexed, as I've observed around me. If "fun" means you like some other dude's "artifacts" on your big thing and/or your tongue, then you can have it.

I don't quite understand the allure of hip hop music. It's a bit too manufactured-sounding for my liking, and some of the shallowest and most sexual of people I know are into it. It's also iked by self-hating whites and other non-blacks. I guess it's a matter of taste, but at the very least, it's not my bag.
