My lord, this is beyond a shadow of a doubt the most atrocious performance of the Zig-zag that has ever been presented -- it would be laughable if it weren't so sad. Mr. Harbin must be rolling in his grave.

I've been told that this was at The Order of the Magi in Manchester UK.
From what I understand they are celebrating their Centenary this year.
Also, although JD didn't win, he was awarded a prize for his performance - yikes!
From watching these videos, their repuation is totally fucked.

I think the second blade doesn't fit because it's the wrong way round.
This performance is so cringe-makingly bad.

I support magicians and their efforts, but this time I have to ask: where is a sniper when you need one? He may improve, of course, especially the way he behave with the girl who is HIS assistant. He almost toss her into the box and then, at 2:07, he pushed her away as if she distracts people from him! JD needs to pay more atenttion to his craft, moreover if it's labeled as a "comptetion". Wait... please tell me he didn't win the competition...

You've got to be kidding me...
This is a lesson on how NOT to do the Zig Zag and indeed magic generally.
If I could give Johhny some tips:
1) Get an girl that isn't too tall for the box.
2) Ensure the girl is in the correct position before shoving the blades in. Not doing will result in injury.
3) When sliding the middle out, ensure the small door doesn't flip open, or the trick will be exposed.
4) Don't just drag the girl across the stage.
5) Give up magic.
This performance is wrong on so many levels.
