Methane gas well in Pennsylvania

This looks like a small natural gas well. The "pumping unit" is not pumping the natural gas anywhere... It is simply bringing the water from the formation up out of the ground allowing the natural gas to flow to the surface. The water is then usually separated from the natural gas and then the water is stored in a storage tank and the gas continues down the production line. In some cases, a Dehydrator is needed to remove water from the gas so it can go into a consumer pipeline.

Can you explain this? How is is it used and how is it transported? And how is it produced
It's collecting methane from coal. That's what the people said who have it on their property. It's called a coal-methane well.

I am told that the methane is collected and transported via an underground pipeline that is connected to other wells in the area. If you Google "methane coalbed Pennsylvania," you should find a site titled "Pennsylvania Geological Society: Coalbed Methane." Click on the link for "more information" for a detailed report. I can't post the link directly because YouTube forbids that.
