  • I remember the old drumming theme music. both at the beginning and the end of World Beat News. It's forever embedded in my mind.

  • I agree, I would love to see an old weathercast with Dave Devall writing on the old plexi glass.

  • contact friends in edmonton, with a sled dog, shaved bald with a note scrawld on its side. (and a giant ear grafted on its back, (there how's that one)

  • @lemonrind This was the Edmonton tornado of July 31, 1987. Several people died.

  • Oh, no! What happened in Edmonton?! I hope every one is alright.

  • For the mentioning of contacting friends and relatives in Edmonton at the beginning of the newscast, I assume they are talking about the infamous Edmonton tornado of 1987, since this newscast aired only three days after the tornado happened.

  • Were you conceived two weeks before Canada's first radio station signed on? haha

  • What is Tim Weber & Jacintha Wesselingh doing now? Did they get jobs at other tv stations?

  • Apparently, Dave is retiring in March '09.

  • This is CFTO-TV in stereo, channel 9 in Toronto, cable 8!

CFTO was on Paragon Cable in Jamestown at that time, was it?

  • So, where will Tim Weber go now? He's not exactly 30 years old anymore, and newsrooms are looking for these three attributes now: younger, cheaper, and prettier. (Not that Tim Weber was ever a dog.) But then again, the economy's hurting right now, and ad dollars are not exactly what they were for the longest time.

  • Same here, tvlondon. Those eco-friendly lights are just another contribution by the likes of loony lefties such as David Miller. (I hate the guy.) I'm not saying that we should keep our old school Christmas lights running 24/7, but Miller's gone way too far.
