Al Gore in part of the best speech he's ever given (and I hope one he really meant) saying what is rarely said about the threat America currently faces.
I would argue we have something very important to deal with today (but nothing to fear, and nothing to give up freedom for, and as Al says, much less of a threat than we've faced in our past - until US authoritarians succeed in expanding that threat to be historically greater, that is...), i.e. stopping these authoritarians (in our country) that are using terrorism to grow their own power... this is a threat that is greater than from terrorist organizations themselves, because authoritarians in charge of our security (in our government & some companies) are using terrorist attacks to move the US from democracy towards totalitarian government. That conflict of interest must be dealt with or else terrorists & those that want to lessen freedom here in the US will both win (they both independently have the same goal and are using each other to achieve it).
@DudeRandomsome
Global warming has still yet to be proven true. Go ahead and hit all of the talking points that the liberals always hit on. The fact is, there is no real science that backs it up. Since this is the case, the American people should not be taxed extra for the use of fossil fuels. Yes we all depend on these resources, this is simply the liberal democrats finding another excuse to levy a tax.
and a little advice, dont say "dude" when trying to make an argument.

Even worse flood crisis this year unless government is decisive
.
Water experts yesterday urged the government to be decisive about flood-prevention measures in order to prevent a repeat of last year's severe flooding, as the La Niña phenomenon is expected to bring early rains and more storms this year.

@randyfloyd07
yeah dude climate change is a lie.
the ice ages never happened.
now that we know global warming is a lie let's keep using fossil fuels because we'll never run out of it. ever.
i mean if it's not destroying the atmosphere, who gives a shit what else it does to the environment.
we don't need oil we just want it.
we can quit anytime we want.

I would argue that we are at danger if people like this keep talking about this "climate change" thing that has still yet to be proven, and the American people just blindly buy into it. That will just give the democrats one more thing to try to tax us on.

Lack of ice cover might be affecting the ecology of Lake Champlain
.

Climate change ripples through mountain ecosystems
.
Like dominoes given one nudge, climate change in the form of reduced winter snowfall on mountaintops has subtle but powerful cascading effects felt throughout entire ecosystems, a new study finds.
