Performed by Red Priest; Piers Adams - recorder, Julia Bishop - violin, Angela East - cello and Howard Beach, harpsichord. THIS VIDEO BELONGS TO BBC.
The summer presto is an extract of the "Four Season" Op.8 concerto, Vivaldi's masterpiece. The presto (the final movement of summer) evokes a thunderstorm.

  • Fantastic! I am speechless. The recorder is a hugely underrated instrument. I hate the mentality of people who think it is only for 6 and 7 year olds to learn in school, then that's it! It is an instrument to be learnt, enjoyed and continued. It isn't a toy!

    Piers is magnificent. Bravo!

I also think he'd make a great Doctor Who. Perfect expressions!

  • Wow this is soooo cool!!!!!

  • And I agree about how brilliant Piers is but we seriously mustn't forget the other musicians.... they have their work cut out keeping up with his tempo!!!! Fabulous to experience live too as I did when they got to Holland some years ago. GO Red Priest (*_*)

  • it was really cool but just too fast. I'd love to feel it before all the tones pass that fast.
