water distiller

This is a prototype of sea water distiller. The energy of condensation is used to heat the incoming cold water up to 100°C. The energy of outcoming hot brine is used to set the stirling engine in motion, which pumps the water from sea into device.

Looks like a contraption that the eccentric Caractacus Potts on chitty chitty bang bang would have made, awesome. I'm looking to make a home made water distiller myself.

@electrodacus ok thanks for the info i have researched it quite a bit since i posted that comment above but thanks anyway, i know what distilled water is i just wanted to verify the safety of it

@cronicjointpain If you have concern about the missing minerals just buy a bottle of quality mineral water and add 5% to the distilled water it will be similar dissolved mineral as on tap water but without the heavy metals and bad chemicals.

But distilled water is good for you people that say different do not know what distilled water is.

@cronicjointpain Me and my wife are drinking distilled water every day for the past 3 years now and there is no adverse reaction.

There is a lot of misinformation about this actually about many things.

Rain water is also distilled water except for the fact that is collecting some pollutants from the air.

But distilled water is pure water just H2O and tap water has some more dissolved elements some good some bad but that is close to zero for your body most is from the food.
