The first of a series of vids on how to be your own maintenance technician. Some of it is preventative (like this video) and some is on the spot type of stuff. I hope some of you find this and the following videos fairly helpful. Thanks for watching, and please don't hesitate to comment, ask questions or call me an idiot :)

  • Thanks for the fuckin' video, it helped. I was fortunate that I had a heavy duty garden hose, gotta watch out for those piece of shit ones!! Nice flip off at the end of your vid too. Later!

  • Oh my GOD I laughed so hard when I read this lol. Thanks for watching man, keep kickin' ass and takin' names. FUCK YEA! lol

  • hi friend. great video, clear as fresh water. enjoyed the cussing too haha. here`s a question from argentina. the gas control of my water heater seems to be the problem. should I take it off and dismantle it to find out whats the matter with it? are these devices easy to fix ? I await your response. if you heat Buenos Aires sometime let me know I`ll show you around and get you a lot of chicas too. cheers.

  • Hi Enzo! I apologize for the late response, I have been away for a bit. I would suggest NOT taking apart your gas control. If it's the part I am thinking of, it can be tricky and if not reassembled properly can cause BIG problems. I would suggest hiring someone who does it professionally. Sorry I couldn't be of more help :(

  • The simple and "colorful" instructions were on the money. Unfortunately, it seems the maintenance came too late and our heater had to be replaced due to a continuous leak at the bottom of the tank.

  • lol glad my advice seemed plausible. Sorry to hear you had to replace it though man, I've been there and it's frustrating. Sometimes that's jsut the way it goes though I suppose, no matter how much it pisses us off haha! Keep your chin up and keep kickin ass!

  • Procedure was wrong. Water heater should be turned off and gas supply cut off. Faucet inside house needs to be open too for air inside water heater to escape while filling it with water. Video was too long yet he forgot a lot of important items.

  • Remember to make sure the hot water heater is FULL before turning back on the power on electric water heaters, otherwise, you will blow the heating element(s). Besides this little omission, it was an informative and entertaining video.

  • @garlandbob more evidence of why the greatest country in the world is going down the drain. A lower standard and lower class of people every generation.

  • It took you 3:50 second to actually do anything? LOL

Do you get paid by the hour?

  • I really love YouTube free info sharing, but DIY-ers BEWARE! Check with all the manufacturer's website and any available OEM manuals BEFORE doing any sort of DIY work. I speak from experience because I have broken many things from my own overzealous white trash DIY actions. (and probably will continue to do so in the future). BUT DO YOUR RESEARCH! As many people below stated, there are several steps skipped here that could lead to damage, injury, or worse. Nonetheless, GDMf-ing funny video.

  • u r FUCKING AWESOME! love the cussing. hate those shiny nice fix it videos. my husband laughs at me watching u tube to learn how to do stuff. don't appologize for cussing, if they don't like it, they can watch something else! keep it up it's GREAT! feels good too huh? also, don't listen to ANYONE who says it took too long to make your video. it's a HUGE HELP for people like me who've NEVER done something like this before. PERFECT VIDEO and the others r right, u r hawt!

  • Great video, very informative and simple! I am glad I found it.

    Thanks, my friend! Be warm!

    : )

  • For God's Sake....roflmao...thanks for the vid! Q: Aren't I supposed to turn the water off to the heater at top before starting? Stay cool :o)

  • Our water heater is a piece of shit. But I've never flushed it, and I've been there 4 years. I hope it helps.

  • I loved the cursing in this, haha.
