@39penrose You have an excellent point and are 100% right - I agree with you completely. But... unfortunately TiVo, like any company, is a ruthless business that needs to make more money more money more money. Add to that this mindless society we are in where people only react to the types of market ploys you mentioned - showing the "attractive" person with the product. Most people probably dont even care that the product is actually useful.

I picked up a couple of these TiVos from my cable company and I hate how when the box is full it automatically cancels recordings when there is no more disk space -- unlike their barebones DVR.. Just because my hard drive will be full before 1/27 when I schedule the recording on 1/18 doesn't mean that my hard drive will be full on 1/27. Although network sharing is pretty cool and works flawlessly and essentially doubles the DVR capacity.

I really dislike the negative images being fed somewhat unconsciously in this video. For instance, the regular tv guy is balding, fat, on a worn out couch and shaggy carpet while mr. TiVo is a reasonably good looking guy, on a leather couch looking all "how you doing". I am a big fan of TiVo but really dislike this negative reinforcement of images and looks

They forgot to say you need a cableCARD from the cable company to plug into the TiVo.
