CTA Dan Ryan Red Line, Cermak to 47th St.

It's four months since I did the "Red Line, Subway to Cermak" video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEk-rTdjYyY
and the CTA's windows are still dirty.

Notice that the Dan Ryan Red Line train, which the city wants commuters to take to avoid the Dan Ryan rebuilding this year, is actually SLOWER than the traffic on the expressway at 1:30 on a weekday afternoon;-)

please tell me, how dangerous is the south side when you get to 75th street? my friends and I have always wanted to go to a restaurant down there, but we're just scrawny white dudes

@BukkakeSniper You must be going to Army & Lou's;) Normally, this would be a snap. Red Line to 79th St. and get on the easbound #75 bus.

But after a Chicago cop (one of the Mayor's security detail) got shot to death a few days ago in front of his house in that neighborhood, IN UNIFORM, while he was wiping down his new car, I could not, in good conscience, tell you to take the CTA. DRIVE, and for God's sake, keep your wits about you. Even longtime residents are scared.

@ BukkakeSniper no offence but plz dont go out there...im from the south side and its pretty dangerous...like they say if u ait from the ghetto dont come to the f@ckin ghetto...just some advise stay safe though!!

I do. I would see him sometimes in the tunnel or occasionally on State str. Downtown.

I remember going to college at UIC, having to take the red line to Jackson Blvd and then transferring to the Blue Line. Does anyone remember this old man playing the congos in the hallway tunnels at that transfer spot?

I like riding the red line on the south side. It is so much faster than on the north side.

We rode this line while on vacation to Chicago. Got off at 35th to get some snaps of Comiskey Park. Guy tried to sell us unsurance on the platform, lol.
