This is a demonstration of the 0.3 series of simon (0.3.0 in this video).

The software is developed with the main intent to provide a alternative way of interacting with the computer for people with physical disabilities.
For more information visit our website at http://simon-listens.org, the development site on http://sourceforge.net/projects/speech2text or our developer blog at http://simon-listens.blogspot.com.

You can download simon 0.3 as source archive but there are also packages available for Win32, OpenSUSE and Ubuntu on our sourceforge page (http://sourceforge.net/projects/speech2text/). Up to date installation instructions are available on our wiki (http://www.simon-listens.org/wiki/index.php/Installation).

  • @hubble8000 You should remove the folders "simon" and "simond" from /home/user/.kde/share/apps.. ;)

  • I installed Simon on Ubuntu and it started. However, without a proper tutorial I messed it with a few words that I picked up randomly. Then, after a long while I found this tutorial (well hidden) and I understood how to use it. Too late. Garbage is all around my simon, and whatever I do it just sticks there. I removed simon with "sudo apt-get --purge remove simon" and all methods available, but when I reinstall it, it comes up with the good old garbage. How to make a clean install please?

  • Nice job! Works great and customizable too.

  • This is great! I've been waiting for speech input in KDE to mature and this is very promising, thank you!

  • yei :D compiling... about 29% and then trying it out :P

  • This is just amazing. Heard about this project about a year ago. Since then there is some excellent progress especially with the use scenarios.

Go on and rock simon !!
