14 years after BART's Dublin/Pleasanton extension opened, the first-ever video tour of this line is now here in 2011! Enjoy this exclusive, quiet and refreshing ride out of the Bay Area's Tri-Valley region on this 8-car San Francisco/Daly City train, as it heads for Bay Fair Station in San Leandro on a scintillating Tuesday afternoon. Bay Fair is the first available transfer point for passengers (coming from Dublin/Pleasanton) looking to switch to the Fremont or Richmond trains.
This clip also features BART's new West Dublin/Pleasanton station, which has now been in service since February 19, 2011. BART's Dublin/Pleasanton line geographically is the closest of the system's five lines to Interstate 5, the most popular (southbound) freeway route to Los Angeles and Southern California.
@JiaLinBraswell thats the DC chopper converting current for use in the DC traction motor. BART C-cars (flat-nose cab cars) are equipped with this Westinghouse traction package, while the A (cool wedge shape cabs with no end couplers) and B cars (intermediate cars without cabs) have been overhauled with Adtranz's AC propulsion.
