Highlights: Penguins vs. Flyers: Game 4 2009 Playoffs

Fleury = UNREAL!!!

It seemed like the crowd was quiet in this game, compared to Game 3. The pace of the game seemed slower too. I think I even heard a "Let's Go Flyers" chant with about 5 minutes left in the 2nd period. First time I've heard the Flyers fans chant for their team.

Tight game in the 1st. Sykora with a chance but is colder than the ice...can't finish it. 2nd period Pens were really outshot. I thought this game was the most lopsided in the Flyers favor in terms of time spent in the opponents zone. But it was the Pens that ended the 2nd with 2 goals, one from Crosby and one from Kennedy!

3rd period was about the Flyers getting a ton of opportunites on the powerplay and Fleury standing tall. I was kind of hoping all the calls the Flyers got in this period would stop any whining, but I'm guessing it won't. 15 powerplay shots for the Flyers and they don't score. This was the kind of game I didn't want to see the Pens get into, a special teams game. I think the Pens had 5 or 6 PPs and the Flyesr had 9 or so. It all worked out though.

Flyers put one in with 8 minutes left, and now the crowd is going crazy again. Lots of action to close it out, and Talbot gets the empty netter to seal the deal.

WOO!! Win it at home on Thursday, Pens!

Why would I watch Flyers games? They are jokes. The only Flyers games I watch are ones between the Pens, and that chant is incredibly rare compared to lots of booing and cat-calling.

They Flyers are not called the most intimidating fans in hockey because we are the quietest... in fact most NHL players and announcers think we are among the loudest. Just like most hockey fans know that most pens fans are bandwagon fans since they averaged a NHL lowest of 11 thousand before he was on the team then jumped high... btw the first goal of this game should have been a pen on sid

Yeah I used to be intimidated by Flyer fans, now I just laugh as they boo after every single penalty, boo when someone goes down on the ice and is hurt, and start the "Crosby sucks" chant right after he scores a goal.

There is no denying you are among the loudest; it's just rarely for your own team. It's always against the refs with the boos or against Crosby with the chants.

well since sid doesnt play for every team I doubt thats true... we chant lets go Flyers all the time... just during game play we actually like to focus on the game 100%... we dont do anything to take away from taking in a hockey game like standing up or eating during play... we will do chants if we feel it will help our team but at the most point our chants are during commercial breaks or play stoppages... sorry we are more hockey fans then anything

I already stated I don't watch the other Flyers games, I'm talking about Pens vs. Flyers. When this matchup occurs, the Flyers fans are definitely focusing on when Crosby touches the puck.

sorry this was a response to Monty's comment about the flyers being more of a speedbump than a rival one page back.

The numbers are actually Pens have won 1 out of 4 all time playoff meetings (last year) not including this one obviously.

Actually in the ln the last 12 years the flyers have only met the pens in the playoffs 4 times (this is the fourth). In '97 we won in the Eastern Conference Finals, in 2001 we won in the semis to play the Devils, and last year we lost in the conference finals. I think the pens have only beat the flyers in the playoffs twice all time (out of 7 or 11 meetings, I'll have to check). It's more of a recent rivalry than anything else.
