  • Well since there are not so many good tutorials out there I want to give you credit for your many tutorials and how helpful they are. You make tutorials and you don't focus on just teaching people one thing but you teach them almost all of the things they have to know to continue on their own.

  • Uh, why didn't you just make a hollow cube for your test area instead of wasting time building walls...?

  • you should change you theme, black text on dark background isn't a very good choice, but nice tutorial anyway :)

  • i do not currently have visual studios, is it free and if not how much is it? or is there an alternative that i can use?

  • your start button is fantastic!!

  • it it just me or did udk open CRAZY fast

  • Very good start to the tutorial series. I haven't watched any other videos in this series but i hope there all as good as this.

  • The mic is annoying, but the tutorial is good :)

  • @StephenWebb1980 If you're shipping, BSP has little to no place in your build any way. At any rate, Ol Skool comment refers to the way we used to use CSG, particular when bools were messy at best. He could have used a flat plane, which is faster than the peanut galleries suggestions. So what.

  • @graveljaw hmmm, I'm a programmer at heart, so I look for the best way to do something using the easiest method and also the least costly (that's not to say I'm cheap lol)...an equivalent effect could have been reached by making the cube then simply subtracting the roof out - 2 BSPs as opposed to 5 BSPs...its faster, and costs less in more than one way (time as stated, and of course processing) 5 BSPs are 5 objects (therefore 5 sets of properties = increased complexity) which is costly
