@timgo2 ya i think in momentum and good times he just had something like that x factor where he was som much better than everybody and now I think it's cool cuz pretty much everybodys winning now like mick taj and hopefully joel soon but i think slater's more of a complete surfer now like he knows what he can do and what he can't

@SenneffRules i agree with what he's done for surfing is great, but its sort of ruined comp surfing for me. i still think slater was a better surfer in the mid to late 90's than what he is now. no could touch him then, but now there are some just as good if not better!!

@timgo2 and honestly slater is about to win ten and retire so I say give him the respect he deserves because what he has done for the sport is remarkable ten world titles mate come on...

@timgo2 ok first off slates was easily surfing as good as anybody in the hurley pro...did u see that barrel against bede in the final? or what about that 9.1 he got against owen in the quaterfinals? cmon man i think your just tired of slater still making an impact and as for portugal I think slater was surfing smart not a hundred percent but smart so he could advance through the heat and save some for the final...i did think jordy's backside superman was amazing and should have got higher score

@SenneffRules r u kidding!! he was falling off alot more than normal! there were alot better surfers than him out there. it was hard to watch his heats at portugal cause u knew no matter what he was going to get through. every heat mick and jordy had look like they dominated, but the judges held them back! it's obvious!!!

@timgo2 thats bullshit if anything the judges low ball him half the time cuz he has to prove it...take the the hurley pro last week he was easily surfing the best and even took down mick in the semis i think mick rips for sure but u have to appreciate good surfing no matter who it's from.
