Swimming Technique: Help me to improve it.

I suck at swimming but you could help me by giving me some good tips.
The water was pretty cold so it was hard to get the most of the power out of my arms.
Also, in the middle of the video (swimming parallel to the rocks) the water was too shallow so I was touching the sea bottom with the hands.
Please concentrate on the technique for the tips. Thanks.

  • almost 2 years later, watching this, I feel like laughing. I suggest you watch youtube videos to see how to swim properly (not like me 2 years ago) and best of all, get an instructor to give you tips. Jesus how low my elbows were during recovery :)

    -Arms should enter in front of shoulders ---> Am I overreaching?

    -Breath should be connected to rotation ----> do you mean I should breath every 2 strokes?

  • you look pretty good there. im self taught swimmer. the best advice i can give is forget about the legs as they use up too much energy and only contribute little to propulsion. pretend you are paralized from the hip downwards and let legs hang straight with small natural movements. never fight the water and dont pull too hard with hands.

  • Stroke Analysis: -Too Frantic...keep arms long and glide each stroke -Arms should enter in front of shoulders -Breath should be connected to rotation

    This should save a bunch of energy...Also use the Aquatic Signature to help you relax in the water...(there is a video here on youtube)
