Ex Playboy Bunnies - http://www.explayboybunnies.com/

A scene from the spy 'comedy' "Otley" released in 1968. Starring Tom Courtney as the titular 'hero'.

The screenplay was written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, a famous comedy writing team in Britain. This is not one of their better efforts. They are more renowned for penning British TV classics such as "The Likely Lads", "Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?", "Porridge", and "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet". Passing references to Playboy Bunnies are made in several of their screenplays and their film "The Bank Job", released in 2008, features a scene shot in a club reminscent of the London Penthouse Club, with waitress dressed similarly to the Penthouse Pets. Which was ripped-off from the vastly superior Playboy Club and the world famous Bunnies. Clearly Clement and La Frenais are a little Bunny-fixated. It takes one to spot another...

This scene is from a German-dubbed TV screening of "Otley". I'll have to find an English version or convert my VHS copy.

Here Otley is shown entering the club, then being greeted by real-life Playboy Bunny Anne Worral before taking his seat in the VIP Room restaurant where a velvet-costumed VIP Bunny sprinkles salt/pepper into his soup.

Englsih translation:

Otley: You shouldn't talk to me, could be dangerous.

Albert: He's coming on a bit strong.

Lin: Oh shut up! You've never been dangerous to be with.

[Playboy Club interior]

Bunny Anne: Good Morning, welcome to the Playboy Club. I'm Bunny Anne.

Otley: Oh yes, Mr Proudfoot's table please.

Bunny Anne: Oh you must be Mr Motley.

Otley: Otley, Bunny Otley. [a parody of the "Bond, James Bond" greeting and also the Bunny salutation to keyholders and guests]

[Bunny Anne points to Mr Proudfoot's table, scene switches to VIP Room restaurant]

Otley (now seated): What's this, The Naked Lunch?
