im new to the sport quad scene, i was wondering whats good and whats not, i kinda have my mind set on either the suzuki ltr-450, honda trx450, or polaris outlaw 450. i weigh about 200 lbs. and im not gonna race im just going to use it for trail riding and beatin around, what do you think would be a good machine? thanks dan-

yfz450, ltr's are 4 inches wider than yfz which make it a little frustrating if you dont know what your doing in the woods, i dont wanna sound cocky but after riding for 12 years i can rip threw tight sections on the ltr. Now as for a trx450, honda's suck, plain and simple, its a good quad, but you'll have to fix it way more than you would if you had a ltr or a yfz. If you want a outlaw id wait a couple years because they still have some things to work out with their sport atvs.

im looking for performance on the ltr but only 99 dbs or less for the pipe do you know any good ones at that range

i know you can buy quite cores for hmf's but it robs performance, and ive also seen hmf using a new technology to make it 95 dbs with all the performance, but ive only seen it on a yfz450

I heard the Outlaws hmf is 103 dbs and the R450's yoshi is 105. I know the legal limit is 99

CCS dont mean everything bud. a 450 with dropped compression and a garret tuerbo on 12 psi has the power of 1340 cc motor at 8.5k rpms. but its still a 450. And no it does not have to be bored out.

YFZ all the way if all you are doing is some trail riding and you want a sport bike to do it. that or the KFX 450. that one has reverse which has reverse. I personally have a ltr, and before that i have had a banshee and a blaster prior to it all, so i have grown up without reverse, and do just fine with any bike in the woods. but the yfz is an awesome all around bike, and will do excellent in the trails, and for the most part, better than the other 450's. and yes, honda's not the way to go.haha
