There are many caring Republicans and Democrats in America, but they clearly define compassion differently. Dr. Terry Paulson, contributing columnist with both the Ventura County Star and townhall.com. Democrats favor government-run compassion, but such entitlements can have a devastating affect, creating a debilitating dependence on the very programs that were designed to help. Republicans want a safety net but not a hammock; they believe in fostering self-reliance and community charities rather than more expensive entitlements.
I like the fact you should look towards your neighbor for your handout. That would really help with people that are of a different color....or maybe of a different income. Sounds like if I want a handout I'll just go door to door....maybe they'll will like me!! Doesn't the Christian church do that on Sundays...and then divvy it out?

Entitlement programs, such as: giving disabled American veterans money to live on so they don't have to beg on the streets. Giving senior Americans a basic living so they don't have to beg from their kids, if they have any.

The tragedy of American compassion through government entitlement programs has never been better portrayed than the way Paulson sums it up.

I found this video to be very compelling. I particularly liked the quotes that were used to illustrate the points. JW
