When you separate the valued aspects of religion, you realize they are just psychology, philosophy, etc., and everything that is truly religious in nature, is just superstition. Religion, was replaced when science arose, although philosophy had done a better job, than religion, and is still capable of answering the questions, or providing a better explanation on what science cannot answer.

Karma is mainly just the Eastern view of "God of the Gaps" arguments. Just take out the God, by replacing it with a mystical concept. Why are you born with "X," because of what you did in the "previous life," although the majority of things, subscribed to Karma, are explained with science, and the rest, are either untestable, or just best to remain agnostic about, to make this a really bad hypothesis to defining reality.

i hate when people make pathetic arguments for things that you stand by... gay marriage... child marriage... so stupid...

To issue said certificate to more than two people would be fraud as provisions in law for such a union does not exist VIA A MARRIAGE LICENSING. It does exist through corporations and businesses in some sense though I suppose. The cultural issue on this SHOULD be irrelevant but it is not. Most people can't as Leysen so wonderfully put it put themselves in.....empathize dammit. People lack empathy.

In the same spirit of long-winded and unwarranted written replies. Marriage as it exists in law in the western world's developed countries is largely defined by religious historical influence ...religion....christianity. That being said the current contract that exists in law for the use of the provisions of a marriage license for inheritance and taxing apply to two people.

Please note, ignore the syntactic ambiguity in this first line. I do not mean to say that incest is taboo because gay people are a minority :)

and since gay people are already a minority, incest is taboo in western society...all "modern" society really and is thus less likely to be raised then we see that realistically (as opposed to logically) the probability of two same sex siblings wanting to shack up so to speak is therefore slim and under-reported - you won't have to worry about that amendment being passed this century.

If the law was in fact "reason, free from passion" (emotional complications in this case). Such an amendment would be likely easily passed as it is logical however given the average age of a supreme court judge in the US and also the number of greys from old age I'd say that amendment is a long ways off
