Khatia Buniatishvili twice at BOZAR

The young Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili has given critically acclaimed solo recitals and chamber music concerts at such renowned venues as London's Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw and the Musikverein in Vienna. In 2008 shemade her US concert début at Carnegie Hall (Zankel Hall), performing Chopin's "Second piano concerto".

This season 2011-2012, she plays twice in Brussels at the Centre for Fine Arts (BOZAR) where we met her last September for an interview (in French). She spoke lovely about her artist's intuition and freedom to improvise in recital.

So many talented people are drowning in Georgia and garbage like her and her types are pushed. I was for a while in Georgia and I know that you are bureaucrats. "Pianist"? are you kidding? Besides banging hell, she at least could dress up normally. But I guess you Like it? When I was showed and was asked opinion, I wanted to throw up.

Outstanding as long as she has somebody to back her up. She is the most vulgar and irritating. I did not know that more than half naked, aggressive women can be called pianists, especially when they bang hell out of the instrument.

@ericsteph I suspect not, it probably exists only within Khatia Buniatishvili. Incidentally she plays a quieter section of the same work starting at 1:06.

With her remarkable talent I feel a star is born.
