  • wow

  • do u like Celibidache interpretation?

I think that's too slow! In part two there is a beautiful "crescendo", but in Celibidache version this is really slow. My favorite directions of Six Symphony of Anton Bruckner are surely those Jochum or Sinopoli, both Staatskapelle Dresden. I dont know Abbados direction..and u? Bye

  • slow or not, the playing by the orchestra is phenomenal

  • i agree! but this symphony, with the same orchestra with another conductor (like Abbado or Sinopoli) is supreme!^^

  • celi has fast and slow versions of bruckner symphonys. take a listen to bruckner 9 by cheli under EMI. The 1st mov. alone is 32 mins 10 mins slower then some. BUT THE POWER IS MASSIVE

  • I dont Know 9 Symphony with Celibidache...My favorite interpretation of 9 Symphony is with Abbado and Furtwangler!

  • The bit beginning at 3:23 is Bruckner at his most sublime.

  • the height of the sticks of the timpanist at the end is stunning.... what a sound

  • It's great but WAY better to listen to it live.

  • That last exposition by the brass is just hair raising!

  • @iduefoscari Beethoven, Bruckner, Sibelius, especially his 3rd, 5th and 7th. There are so many great symphonies. Carl Nielson's 5th, Vaughan Williams' 5th, etc.

  • @lewars1912 You are so right. This chorale is the essence of Bruckner.

  • @iduefoscari I wonder what the wild and rebellious Herr Beethoven would have made of music so powerful and majestic coming out of a man as meek and humble as Herr Bruckner.

  • This is the finest of all Bruckners Chorales.I dont know how many modulations there are but I gave up after counting thirty. The more I hear Bruckner the more I believe that perhaps with Beethoven he was the greatest of all symphonists.

  • This first movement is incredible!!! Its has its innocent and sweet moments but when its time to get serious the brass do play around. For that moment at 5:23 to the end I want to be a trumpet player I swear. You can just hear them calling out to you even till that rit comes in on the last note.!!! Amazing!!!! (Still clarinet player for life though lol)

  • A conductor who can rank alongside the famed Brucknerians like Jochum, Karajan, Tintner et al.in this sublime repertoire. Danke Pingopalla. sd goh (malaysia)
