La antigua tierra de tartessos, celtas, íberos. Nuestra tierra actual, el suelo en el que vivimos y en el que se ha desarrollado la cultura y la Historia de España.

Hay mucha controversia acerca del origen del nombre de Hispania o España, ya que resulta seguro que no tendría raíz latina. Diversas teorías dicen que fue un nombre dado por los fenicios, los griegos o incluso que podría ser una antigua palabra que viniera de las lenguas ibéricas, como el vasco. Lo más probable es que la hipótesis griega sea la acertada (Span - tierra de conejos, por la abundancia de estos animales que había entonces en la Península).

Aunque los primeros humanos llegaron a Iberia en el 33.000 a.C, los habitantes por excelencia de la Península antes de la llegada de los romanos fueron los iberos, pueblos de gran diversidad étnica y cultural pero que tenían un antiguo origen común, siendo lo más posible que provinieran del Mediterraneo Oriental. También era notoria la presencia de los celtas indoeuropeos, que controlaron grandes zonas de la Península. Con el tiempo, ambos pueblos comenzaron a mezclarse. Por último, cabe destacar la presencia en el sur de la Península de un poderoso y enigmático reino basado en el comercio de metales con los fenicios llamado Tartessos, del cual existen referencias en la Biblia, pero que habría entrado en decadencia y, posteriormente, habría sido destruída por Cartago.

The ancient land of tartessos, Celts, Iberians. Our current ground, the soil in which we live and which has developed the culture and history of Spain.

There is a big controversy about the origin of the name of Hispania or Spain because it is certain that it has not any latin root. Various theories say it was a name given by the Phoenicians, Greeks and even that might be an old word that came from the Iberian languages, such as the Basque. Probably the theory of the Greek origin is the correct one (Span - land of rabbits, by the abundance of these animals that were then in the Peninsula).

Although the first humans arrived in Iberia in 33,000 BC, the inhabitants of the Peninsula for excellence before the arrival of the Romans were the Iberians, people of great ethnic and cultural diversity but who had a common ancient origin, and which are supposed to come from the eastern Mediterranean. Also notable was the presence of Indo-Celtic, who controlled large parts of the Peninsula. Over time, the two peoples began to mix. Finally, it was also remarkable the presence in the south of the peninsula a powerful and enigmatic kingdom based in metals trading with the Phoenicians called Tartessos, of which there are references in the Bible, but would have entered into decline and, subsequently, would have been destroyed by Carthage.

Una pregunta para un español ¿es un delito calificar a España como nación latina?

Me sumo a lo que dice PorkoRoso. Si hay algo en el mundo que es España, eso es una nación Mediterránea, gens romana, latina por excelencia. Hispania fue la joya del Imperio romano, sólo la Itálica podía equipararse en importancia a la Península Ibérica. Para nada es un delito ni un insulto, es la pura verdad, y lo cierto es que si hay algo de lo que uno puede estar orgullo es de descender de antepasados que pertenecieron al mayor imperio de la Antigüedad.

@EmmaRose473 Just because the spanish and portuguese share a name in antiquity doesnt mean any favortism was shown much less disrespect for portugal or portuguese.The web site may be called spanish heritage but what is offensive about that?Nothing on the website or this video show anything that is offensive or inaccurate,now if the uploader chose to leave out Lusitanians that is his prerogative.
