WOAH!!! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ALL ABOUT!! WHAT A WEEKEND THAT WAS! Storming, amazing, superb, and all the rest!
Better than ever I reckon. The weather stayed almost perfect too apart from the sandblasting that was the beach yesterday - saturday afternoon on the beach was amazing though following by a trip to see the madness going on all the pool party!
For me, Fridays set of the night had to go to Human Resource, such FAT techno (that remix of dominator - wow), and saturday night goes to Rotator I think in the Queen Vic, again a superb set, and can't wait to catch another set at Norberg Festival in July. And dare I say it, Westwood was alright too, playing at 5pm on a sunday afternoon (and with a fair few pints of Guinness) helped!
Everyone was friendly, everyone I spoke to was enjoying themselves immensely. So many funny bits too - Dave Benson & Normski, the Wrong Music BFTV takeover, the DJ Vibes DNB brockout on BFTV saturday evening, the catering staff moaning about how bad their chalet was and then I pointed out they were in the decent chalets and should try checking out the ones in the 600's instead. Security generally were safe too (apart from hearing about a few raided chalets ). Such a huge amount of shouts but in particular to the Swedish & Beligan crews for making the journey over, all the ravetalk and ush people I chatted to.
Overall, MASSIVE MASSIVE RESPECT to everyone who works so fucking hard behined the scenes, from the legendary preparation of banners and toys - what I will refer to as the Dream Factory, to the logistics - Charlie, Warren, Francesca, and the rest of those running things there, and especially to James, Alison and the rest of the team. You guys make the event a fucking awesome thing to be part of, whether behind the scenes or in the crowd, and long may it continue. VIVA LA BANGFACE
Anyway - onto the set. I loved starting off with the old skool before things go crazy - always have to remember though that I can't jump around when mixing vinyl as the records skip, hahaha!
You can download a recording of this set RIGHT NOW on my site at www.daveskywalker.com - just check the news on the front page. Respect!
This video will be replaced with a better copy when I encode all the footage taken during my set, but right now one camcorder isn't talking to my PC!!
