Questioning science is quite appropriate, assuming you have a working knowledge of science to make a cogent case against an emerging or established scientific theory. The problem here is that most conservatives who are skeptical of climate science or evolution have little to NO working knowledge of science or scientific methodology, and they think their opinion on the matter should carry as much weight as those who are experts.
