@tieflingwizard1 Hmm, it might end up being hard to do a lot of things in the game with a character like that. Depending on how the world is, you might just be seen as something that should be attacked if it gets near a town. Something to keep in mind.

@woodwwad Well, I was going through Savage Species, looking at the templates, when I come across the Tauric template. It got my attention instantly. The example was a hobgoblin-griffon. I began to think of many different possibilities, even thumbing through my Monster Manual. I stopped on the sphinx category and the wheels started to turn. I thought, "What if there was a sphinx that would be more human than normal?" Thus, this idea was born.

@tieflingwizard1 certainly an odd character. What got a character like this into your head?
-
@woodwwad No, not really. Let me use my idea as an example. The creature would be a tauric human-androsphinx. He would be of a fighter class. I'm also having trouble figuring out how to make the character. I'll send the information of the template in a private message. So I can get help with the creation process.

@tieflingwizard1 the way it is suppose to work is a +2 template would add 2 levels to your character. So a +2 would mean the character at 1st level would be equal to a 3rd level character. The DM might let you start with it at first level but you'd have to earn level 4 before you'd get level 2. It is a bit complicated. Are you following what I'm saying?

@woodwwad What is a level adjustment and how does it work? For example, the level adjustment for the tauric template is +2. Would I would have to wait until level 3 before taking a character class?
-
@tieflingwizard1 What it is you don't understand about that?

@woodwwad Another quick question: Could you make a video on how to apply a template to a player character in D&D 3.5? I was thinking of making a tauric character, but I still have problems (mainly with Level Adjustment and how it works).
I understand what your saying. After playing a wizard for my first campaign, I wanted something different and looking though pathfinder advanced book and saw inquisitor. So I'm playing as an Elf Inquisitor. So even though our DM was like that's not ideal it is still fun. And we're having a great time!

@MRdaBakkle Well that great for you, you win when you have a good time. Finding something that isn't ideal really gives you a big edge as the other players have likely not seen someone play a race/class combo like that which simply makes it more interesting.
