A portrait of a "youtube celebrity."

I think I should do more of these. Except next time I'd like a clearer reference picture. I did this off of a screen capture so I had to go with kind of a "soft look." I just know there'll be comments about certain features being "off" but when it comes down to if I was going to make a portrait as accurate as possible I'd take a photograph. So I'm happy with it overall. My goal was to share with people what it looks like to paint something this complex and I think I've accomplished that.

Do you use acrylics or oils? And the canvas you use is odd . . . do they make them with a grid on it, or did you have to make your own??

I used acrylics because I don't have the right ventilation to deal with the fumes that you get when working with oil paints. I gridded the canvas so that I could get the proportions right. I usually draw the image on with a harder drawing pencil (4) so that the lines will erase out easier.
