WOW, I bet your neighbors love you as much as mine love me...I have two Blue Tick-Lab crosses, but their behavior is all hound!! The whole neighborhood hates us, but I don't mind the howling. Nobody's gonna sneak up on us with the boys yodeling away!

LOL, I think the lady across the street isnt to pleased with the dogs, but the guys on each side up us are ok with it. I reckon ya can get away with it a bit easier in the south, lol

Dogs are great deterrents, but sadly not enough security. Thiefs gave my dogs poinsoned food and got in the house when we left for vacation.

Regardless of the type of hound...Beagle, Bassett, Walker, etc. NOTHING beats hearing them howl.

@squeaky00 I made a general statement about what happened to me with my dog. Again, think of what's logical. If you were a thief what would you do? How would you get into the house? etc.... Frankly, it is not like you are going to solve a 13 year old murder of a dog. You are welcome to obtain DNA evidence from the collar. My GOAL is to make others aware that the same thing can happen to your pets and be AWARE, and it is not to play SHERLOCK HOLMES with you.

@Americo1974 sorry its not clear at all ..facts please help clear things up....u forgot to mention how the thief got into your house to poison ur dogs and why didnt your cousin take them to the vet when he was making one of his periodic visits and how long to you is "periodic"? let me be more clear how many times a day was he coming to take care of the dogs? u say u were on vacation and took them to the vets when u got back.so the dogs were poisoned the day you got back? and is it dog or dogs?

@squeaky00 Thanks for replying to my two year old comment. You have to learn to think beyond what's logical for you. My cousin that lives two blocks away periodically came to check on both the house and dog. And, not the thief is not my cousin. When we came back the dog was vomiting constantly a white stuff, diarreah and blood. It took it to a vet and told me that there was little posibility for survival. We decided that putting the dog down was the most humane thing to do. ok?

@JSRobbs i do have hounds actually B&Ts and when the dogs are out in the yard and some one is walking by and they start to bark/howl i get them and BRING THEM IN THE HOUSE because my neighbors have the right to walk with out being bothered by barking dogs...you are apparently trash or you would not have gotten so defensive and your post would not have been so unoriginal...maybe you should spend more time reading and educating your self and less time adjusting your trailer skirting hugs

@squeaky00 obviously you've never owned hounds, because barking and howling at other animals is what that dog breed was designed to do. so stopping one from barking is taking away one of the things hounds love the most. sigh......you are an uneducated douche congrats!
