  • Thanks for that denis, I've just taken delivery of a Q1, well an "oo" one anyway! A guy has done a limited run of them (25) on modified Hornby Dublo chassis. It looks pretty good, though I've not been able to try it yet. However, I am sure it will be able to pull a very respectable load too. There is a Q1 on the Bluebell, on loan from the NRM I believe, however when I was last there it was out of service. I have ridden behind it, and yes, it did very well!

  • I fully agree. While his pacifics are the most well known I always had a fond spot for the remarkable Q1 class. The most powerful 0-6-0 on British Railways but could also show a good turn of speed on passenger duty. A truly magnificent engine which more than fulfilled expectations.

  • those rods are really flyin...

  • How do you get to this location?

  • nice one !

  • It's not long ago she returned to steam, I think she first returned to mainline traffic in December.

  • Amen to that!

  • I think Bulleid built some pretty nifty engines!
