Lafayette Community Church is hosting for the first time ever, the Lafayette Rocks Band Festival and Competition. On November 7, 2009, the doors to the Long Center will open on a concert showcasing local musical talent, and we want your band to be there... if you win!

An online band competition will be held through YouTube to see who is the best independent band or solo act in Lafayette. All you have to do is submit your video to YouTube as a response to this video and then promote the snot out of it. Tell all your friends and neighbors and relatives to view the video, comment on the video, and rank the video. The video with the highest score determined by multiplying the RANK by TOTAL VIEWS will win!

The Prize

Every band or solo artist that participates in the competition by submitting a video will receive free tickets to the concert. But the Grand Prize winning band will receive:

-- A 20 minute set during the November 7 Concert.
-- A table to sell band merchandise / CDs.
-- A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.
-- A $50 cash prize.

Instructions

Record your band playing your best song, your most popular song, or your funniest song. Submit your video to YouTube as a video reply to this one, and make sure to put your band name and "Lafayette Rocks 2009" in the title. PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE! Use Facebook, Myspace, email, Twitter, snail mail, whatever to get the word out about your video. Do it again. Each band is allowed to post as many videos as they want.
