prisons are sometimes also known as "penitentiaries" . That word is derived from the word "penance" to "repent" or make an "atonement." the Quakers coined the term "penitentiary" Most of those kids did not even commit "Crimes". None of them killed or severely injured anyone. Community Service sounds like a more appropriate "penance" than what that judge did...Eye for an Eye, i think the Judge should get a year for every year he handed out. Dishonorable PIG!!!!!!!
Private prison today have gotten out of control. Prison should not be about making a profits. Because in business in order to increase profit you need to either reduce cost or increase sales.
and I have work in two juvenile facilities and granted some of those kids are just plain evil, and society would be in danger if they were out . However more than half should never had been there. Many are there because of cannabis prohibition and the glamour of big money or small infractions blown out of proportion also many families think their kids are getting therapy and counseling when in fact its a crime education they receive and the tax payers money never seem to go to the facility.
The food is of the lowest quality pennies a day making these kids hungry and unruly and unruly. some of these kid are there for 18 months an when you look at the picture of when they arrived most have incredible amounts of weight. Most of my time was protecting the smaller kids from the bullies the school that they attend are substandard there is little job training if any.
I used to leave anonymous note to contact the ACLU. Today scales of justice are tilted in favor of re-election and filling the prison with no regards to cruel and unusual punishment
When will people get outraged? The prison population is 2.5 million and growing. We live under modern Jim Crow laws and no one will discuss it. This is a fucking police state.
Why respect this system? When they come for your kids give them something else. Think about it..are you free or are you property of the state?
