Yes there is usually pain involved with limited range of motion and swelling.

??? how would I know if your thumb is broken? I'm not a doctor. You need to see someone that can take an xray. My videos describe how to apply and remove casts. I am not in the position of diagnosing anything. Go see a doctor and get an xray

only way to tell if something is fractured is make appt to see orthopaedist and have an xray taken. Treatment would be dictated by orthopedic surgeon

the thumb spica made my arm hurt worse :( The cast seemed to press directly against the injury and made my time in that cast the extremely uncomfortable the entire time!

@MrDamodalamo The reason why was because the cast stabilized the bone enough and it's better to leave the thumb out.

I broke my scaphoid playin basketball I got fouled going up for a layup and fell right on my arm and got taken to the hospital by my bestfriends mom because my parents are on a cruise haha good times
