The capability of the eyes to focus at near or far objects and to see them perfectly is largely thanks to the action of the eye muscles. These muscles, with the ciliary body (the circumferential tissue inside the eye), bend and flex the lens of the eye each time you're looking at something and bring it into focus.

Routinely, the muscles and the ciliary body change the form of the lens more than 100 thousand times a day.
