This is one of the biggest package openings I've ever done (at least in a good long while). Another epic package of UK exclusive goodies from longtime viewer David315842! (aka David "Bunch o' Numbers") He sent so much stuff, it wouldn't all fit in one package...so he sent THREE! And here's the third and final one. Enjoy!

  • Is the Streamline Pictures dub of 'Cagliostro' as hilarious as their dub for 'Akira'?

  • @michele11804 Not as hilarious, but it does have that distinctive "Streamline-ness" to it. :) I'll always have a soft spot for their over the top dubs.

  • Also, in case no one mentioned it before, that UK "Mystery of Mamo" DVD you got has the 3rd alternate English dub, with Lupin played by William Dufris. The Streamline VHS had Bob Bergen doing the voice, as he did for the Streamline "...Cagliostro." And then Tony Oliver dubbed Lupin for the Pioneer/Geneon "Secret of Mamo" since he dubbed 75 episodes of the 2nd series which we also got from Pioneer here in the states. So you could probably do a comparison of the 3 different Mamo dubs.

  • The Sherlock Hound series actually did make it to the US, in full I believe. It's just the individual DVDs are discontinued and very expensive to buy now. So I'm actually going to skip all that personally and buy a Universal DVD player so I can buy the set that you've been given there. Plus it's all in one set, so it's much more worth my while than 5 or 6 individual DVDs.

  • Is there any major differences in quality between the Cagliostro dubs?

  • @Zaranyzerak Oh it was on Laserdisc was it? I doubt we had that edition. But yeah i had a feeling you had the Geneon/Pioneer dub provided by Animaze, later Bang Zoom Entertainment, who ironically enough had some of it's actors working for Streamline in the past. :D Here in the UK, Akira became one of Manga's trademark films, so I guess the Streamline dub was very popular here, as for it to be released, alongside the Geneon/Pioneer dub on DVD here in the UK.

  • @David315842 Yeah, the Streamline dub was basically on the original VHS release and the Criterion Laserdisc release. The only DVD dub we got was the Pioneer dub.

  • @RetroToledo It's cool. Everyone makes mistakes.

  • @TheYesMan30 It's in the process of being sent, he's next video will no doubt be on his Halloween collection. BTW, I'm going to send Sean a couple of spooky based items, so you stop playing with glass now, unless you seriously want to cut yourself.

  • @David315842 Just that it was late last night while I was typing and I didn't think to correcting my mistake quick enough.
