The video runs 14:09 (min:sec), and it aired on CNN's Broken Government Series—The Campaign Killers in January 2008. The effects of a number of highly controversial ads are analyzed, some of which include: the Daisy ad (1964), the Willie Horton ad (1988), the Swift Boat ads (2004), the Petraeus ad (2007). The influence of the internet is also discussed, particularly the impact of "youtube." George Allen, a Republican hopeful for the 2008 presidency, was brought down from power by a comment ("ma-caca") he made about an attendee to his campaign events which was profiled on "youtube" in 2006. Hillary Clinton was profiled as "big brother" in another "youtube" video.
