Xenogears - Babel Tower with Minimal Encounters

There are two areas in Babel Tower which have no random encounters. Instead, battles occur on "spiked squares". The bad part is that you cannot run from these battles, so for perfect game purposes we have to avoid as much of them as possible.

In the first screen, it is possible to get through without a single encounter, unfortunately you will need to pass up on almost all the treasure chests. They are all common items though, so you can skip them and it won't make any difference on the perfect file. You might as well get the Earth Veil Ar since you can though.

The next section is quite the opposite: you can get every chest except the Stone RodG here, but you will face six inescapable battles :(

It should be pretty obvious where the encounters are from watching my movements, the only one I need to point out is the first one in the second section. You need to go across that walkway along the very top. If you're in the right position it will look almost as if you're floating in midair.

Awesome work, did you do many resets to get this right? :O 5/5 (btw i farmed 40 ethers in FF7, i think 30K is enough gil to last till i get the tiny bronco, what do you think?)

This didn't take that long, it's not too tough once you know where the encounters are ;) 30K should be fine, you shouldn't need to buy any equipment until the Tiny Bronco anyway. The Carbon Bangles will do just fine until Mt. Nibel, there you can steal Gold Armlets from Dragons ;)

Oh God please no! I actually just got past this part about two days ago. I hate Babel Tower!! The Horror!!! Well at least I leveled up a significant amount sigh......
