902014, 1940s, 02014, 1940s, social documentary showing the damage visited on the people of a Pennsylvania steel town by the deployment of new technology. 00:12:28 unemployed, depressed looking man, worker, walks though depressed factory town.00:14:35 unemployed man returns home to family, woman preparing and serving meal to husband and daughter little girl, various shots of husband and wife looking very depressed whilst eating meal, cu water dripping in bucket, boy toddler crying in crib, mother and little girl tend to toddler, man finishes meal and leaves house to look for work. , http://www.myfootage.com/details.php?gid=58&sgid=&pid=17974

  • i believe it should have been the 1930's. in the 1940.s WW2 brought back jobs and an upswing to the economy. that's not to say this video isn't true, i'm just saying the decade is wrong.

  • @0:48,..seriously,.NO,.you did NOT throw ANY food away in those days.NONE.Watch anyother "drepression,or wwll "doc's,you WONT see that happen in ANY of them.(except for the ones that were kept 'around' for propaganda purposes)Even if it was rotted you found a way to use it,.soup stock,4example.That kinda wound me up.lol. :)

  • My parents both grew up dirt poor...my Mom during the Great Depression in Canada and my Dad during WWII in Holland. I've listened to all of their stories and I am grateful for everything I have. It is all of them who worked hard to give future generations more of a chance.
