  • Would you purchase this game if it was on XBLIG for a dollar instead of being a free PC game?

  • @IncredibleMD I don't know. It's a great game to start playing instantly when I feel like it. Just load the web page and I'm there. If it was on XBLIG, I'd have to turn the 360 on and start the game from there. That may not sound like a big difference, but when it comes to something like this, a game I'm playing in very short bursts, the difference between playing instantly vs. not playing instantly is notable. This has nothing to do with the cost of the game.

  • What do you use to record this, by the way?

  • @AbeX301 This was done just using Hypercam, nothing fancy.

  • You can probably get tons of suggestions for demos or free games from subscribers or commenters, if you'd like -- probably whether you want them or not. Do you encourage this behaviour, supergreatfriend?

  • @Wirrit I've been looking at some of the services people have been mentioning, linking to things like that is fine.

  • I think this on self-playing mode would make for a good screen saver.

  • Oh wow, this looks like a fun time waster. :P I'll have to give it a spin.

  • I like the background you added to the video. Really makes it look a lot nicer than just a black screen.

  • I think with some tweaking, this game could sell well on mobile devices.

  • @supergreatfriend When you put it that way, I understand, actually. I've been having problems with streaming videos over the past few days, so whenever I felt like watching a youtube video to pass the time I couldn't. But then I remembered this video, so I gave Slayin' a chance myself. Now, I just fill my time with that when I get bored. It is a pretty fun game to start playing instantly, but I'm not sure if I would be so interested in it if I had to fire up my PS3 every time I wanted to play.

  • @supergreatfriend Nothing fancy?

Damn, I underestimated the HyperCam...gotta use that.

  • I just finished playing the game a second time with the Knave. All his upgrades do - swords and armor both - (save for his final sword, which creates lightning strikes) is up the chance for enemies to drop gold.

This may sound quite lame, but there's two things to consider. One, money heals all the characters when it's picked up, but doubly so for the Knave. Keep his combo up, and he can heal ridiculously easily. Two, he holds two weapons in both directions, which gives you a LOT more coverage.

  • Fun game. I played it only once and managed to beat the dragon (you were maybe 5 - 10 levels away from it) and unlocked both characters. I saved up for the swords, but honestly the advantage of them is negligible after the rapier. So yeah, Bone Cleaver and Broad Sword do slow you down. But, by buying them, you can then buy a sword that does random lightning strikes, supposedly. I forgot the name of it, and died before I could obtain it. :B
