Lafayette Trucker In Depth. Albrecht Killer??

So, is this the radio to knock the so far un-released Albrecht AE6490 from the shelves? Well they look the same apart from some extra buttons on the Lafayette and on the inside the differences are there. Heatsink for AM along the side of the Lafayette, missing on the Albrecht and the component just lay on the board. SURE, not needed in legal mode! The speaker is less sharp and more full bodied on the Lafayette also. A different speaker? Or better / more components on the Trucker? Audio from the supplied mike stronger on the Trucker also and a little less strong but maybe more refined on the Albrecht. Export channels on both are there, a rumoured 23.8mhz upwards like the Maycom. Hmm same place involved maybe? 5 memory channels, roger "pmr bleep" and the rest you see on the video.... Hmmm the ASQ (Strike the band Mr.P) is the same superb implimented. So much am sure our friends down in Balaruc or Hildesheim will buy some to see how the make the ASC Better. Price, around the same so not much extra there.. So is this the Albrecht Killer. Well it may well be. The Albrecht will sell by the donkey load here, but the Marcucci imported Lafayette has more options, a little more style and that something that the AE6490 has not. OH Dear. It is something that a video cannot show, just ears, sound and that certain thing that you know when you see it.. I like the 6490, I like the Trucker but think the Albrecht is a seller while the Lafayette is a keeper.

@m0ogy Indeed and loads are fitting them into cars in Poland. It is the market place for them, President is/was the most popular but other brands are now rattling at there door for sure
