@wovokanarchy He lived and wandered around for two years prior to coming to Alaska, i'd say he knows what the reality of nature was. The possibility of dying is one he did accept and acknowledge.
There is much more than just his trip to Alaska, though Alaska was to be the culmination of his efforts.
He wanted to see if he had what it takes to survive in the wild, to prove that he could take care of himself, like primitive man did. To be able to do what truely is required to live.

@SiCDisaster What's so hard about going out into nature anyway? That's a dream? He didn't understand the reality of nature to begin with, he only had an "idea'' of nature in his mind, that's what got him killed.

@wovokanarchy Hillbilly redneck music?? If you are referring to "Southern Rock", then I believe the words of the song pertained to his free-spirit.. not how much money he came from.
