"Pray the Devil Back to Hell" tells the remarkable but little-known story of a small band of unarmed women who risked their lives to bring change to Liberia. Reconstructing the moment through interviews, archival footage and striking images of contemporary Liberia. Armed only with white T-shirts and the courage of their convictions, a coalition of Christian and Muslim women confronted cruelty and corruption, taking on Charles Taylor and the warlords and bringing peace to their country after decades of war. Their demonstrations brought about the exile of Charles Taylor and the election of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa's first female head of state and mark the vanguard of a new wave of people taking control of their political destiny around the world.

  • I am no be fan of the sop called women's liberation movement and or the feminist movement; considering it divisive! However, I am a big fan of Freedom, Progressive Change and Political Empowerment of the Masses of People! I have dealt with African's enough to believe, the progressive and righteous future of Africa can and will be achieved because of the leadership and nurturing motherly embrace of the Women of the Nation's of Africa!

  • does anyone know the song that was played at the beginning of the trailer? it was beautiful

  • The only devils I know is the white man that caused this to happen in Africa.....pray their behinds back to hell..........Africa Unite don't fight each other...the British are still there!

  • Left me in tears to realize what one woman can do and to see what those horrible drug lords have done to the children - the innocent children. Thank you for this documentary - saw it in Bible Study this a.m. and have passed on the info to friends I know would like to show this in their churches.

  • I am always humbled by how little I know of this world. The story of the these women reminds me of Wangari Maathai and her story from Kenya. I watched the clip of Leymah Gbowee on Colbert Nation, and she was amazing. I hope to see this film when it comes out in my area.

  • The Bill Moyer´s Report had this lady on his program this last week. Check it out!
