  • could you please tell me what is perpetual motion? I had to stop taking lessons shortly before that in book 1.

    It is simply the short, to and fro movement of the bow?

  • @ruby117able - actually it's just the name of the piece. There was a time when amateur scientists were fascinated with the notion of creating a device which, once set in motion, would continue perpetually to move. Ultimately they were defeated by earthly things like friction and gravity. But the idea caught on with composers.
