Mac OS X - Sleep, Shut Down, and Restart with the Keyboard

This is a demonstration of how to turn off, restart, and putting your Mac to sleep by using only the keyboard.

Yup, good shortcuts.

Another way to put it to sleep is by pressing and holding the play button on apple remote.

I think I remember reading that in either the manual or some Apple tech doc, but since I never use the remote on my MacBook I completely forgot about this one. Good catch.

The tech note I linked to states this should work in any version of Mac OS X and even Mac OS 9.

This command works to shut down the screen: ctrl+shift+eject
