  • how about if there are other variables like a positive x to the 14th power already as a denominator - then you sub y to 6th minus y to the 18 and get a y to the negative 12 - would that then be X to the 14th times Y to the 12th as a denominator under 1 ? 1/x^14y^12

    y^6/x^14y^18 = 1/x^14y^12 ?

  • okay this is what I was looking for - the when the numerator is smaller then the denominator - it makes it negative thus flipping it to the denominator and making it positive.

  • This helped me so much, I was so lost before. Thank you!!! :)

  • Thank you i also used this same concept for 1 lined expression like

    3x^-4*y^-3

    and got 3/x^4*y^3

  • THANK YOU!

  • Another excellent lesson!
