Classic song off of one of my favorite albums - Permanent Waves. Live, the solo section gets nearly as strong a crowd reaction as it begins as it does at its frenzied conclusion. And the reason for that is that sometimes, when inspiration strikes, Geddy Lee can get down with the best of them.

  • This makes me want to play bass...so many memories

  • @anrchstpunk1

    Start playing then.

  • Loving the videos as always, and trying to recreate (although poorly) the quality of your videos. One question, how do you get such a clean recorded tone? What do you use to record the audio? I've tried many things but direct to my laptop was the best I could do. As always, great video!

  • @RushBass1974

Thanks. I describe in detail how I record in the left hand side of my channel. Going direct seems like it would be the best way to go about it but that's beyond me at this point.

  • all of your bass covers are awesome. I wish you the best with your battle with cancer. Also I like your masks.

  • @chums122

Thank you for the compliment and well wishes. Hopefully the cancer won't come back but I'm being closely monitored and will know pretty much right away if it does. Most of the masks are from Death Studios.

Thanks. The one on the left is from Darkside Studio and the one on the right is from Death Studios.

Thank you very much. I play for my own enjoyment at this point. In the past, I played a bit of everything in cover bands but progressive rock has always been my favorite thing to play.

  • TJH3113 not only is this some tuff stuff to just play ,but play In studio fashion! Great job!

Do you play as a hobby or do you actively Gig in band? Do you play any other genres? Like jazz ,r&b, funk etc?

  • @TJH3113 Yeah buddy. OH, you know what you should really try playing? Driven. That is a really good song from Rush. Off Test for Echo. Fairly deep bass in that one.

  • @POPCORN454545

Yeah, nothing looks like a Ric. I don't think I've ever played a 6 string. I don't care for tapping and real extended range styles of playing. I prefer the 4 string over the 5. the B string makes a nice thumb rest though.
