  • Sometimes the harpsichord seems to be a bit out of tune, doesn't it?

What strange fugue is this, that doesn't present the theme in isolation, and after only two notes we can hear another voice already?

  • No the harpsichord is less "out of tune than a modern piano, it´s a meantone temperament.

The fugue can just be classified as 2strange" if you take Bach's fugue as a model. This is a tipical fugue like the neapolitans composers wrote, or even the Handelian model of fugue.

  • Listening to you is a true pleasure.

I've got some Seixas recordings and among them a Concert in A major for harps.and strings,so beautiful.

On the same CD a really amazing concert for harps.and strings by anonimous (easily from Seixa's school). An unknown gem.

This music has been overshadowed by the commonly performed composers, but it deserves greater audience.

Thx.for sharing this with us,baroque music enthusiasts.

  • Thank you so much.

I believe that more and more this music is getting her audience.

  • Ho ascoltato questo brano non meno di 10 volte. Sei veramente magnifico :o)

  • overwelming

  • Like your fellow countryman's music, Scarlatti. Unfortunately Seixas's work was mostly destroyed by fire in the 1755 Lisbon Earthquake. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to listen to a work of his I didn't knew about.

  • Gracias!
