@BBFNTL It's a good question, and I don't claim to KNOW the answer, but I bet they obtained it legally. I bet that because at the time the got it the Royal family had absolute power, so even if they just seized it, the act was legal. It may not be legal NOW, but new laws don't apply retroactively, so there's not much to be done about it. Taking royal land now would be illegal NOW, in exactly the same way taking someone's house from him is illegal. It's just their land, period.

@BBFNTL If you inherited land from your grandfather, it would be rightfully yours. Also, both you and the Royals have to pay inheritance tax.
